What You'll Do/Need

The Crisis Management/Business Continuity Specialist supports our crisis management and business continuity program initiatives, drives continuous improvement of the teams’ internal processes and ensures the company meets or exceeds our client and regulatory business continuity requirements. This team member creates and updates crisis management and business continuity documentation, supports crisis management and business continuity exercises, performs Business Impact Analysis (BIAs), creates reports, performs follow-up activities and creates partnerships with a wide range of internal teams.



  • Drive all elements of updating Quicken Loans and the FOC’s crisis management framework, team structure, process and plans; coordinate with diverse stakeholder groups (e.g., senior leadership, business areas, physical security, IT, etc.) across all organizational levels to develop and implement a responsive and successful crisis management team
  • Develop, coordinate and deliver crisis management training and exercises, including after-action reporting and action item follow-up
  • Work closely with crisis management team members to continually mature and improve the company’s response to disruptive events
  • Lead or support components of the business continuity program, including governance, communication, risk assessments, business impact analyses, business continuity planning, exercises and awareness
  • Identify, analyze and align business recovery requirements with IT recovery capabilities to ensure plans are sound and gaps are identified and communicated
  • Provide subject matter expertise to business teams, IT and other internal and external teams
  • Provide support during emergencies, incidents or crises that require (or have the potential to require) activation of continuity plans



  • Bachelor’s degree in crisis or emergency management/Homeland Security, business, technology or related discipline preferred
  • Five to seven years of experience in crisis management, business continuity and/or organizational resilience
  • FEMA Professional Continuity Practitioner (PCP) Level I or II
  • Experience implementing NIMS/Incident Command System in private sector organizations
  • Certification through an established crisis management, emergency management or business continuity organizations such as DRII or BCI preferred
  • Familiarity with related standards: DRII, FFIEC, ISO 22301:2012, NIST, etc.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and working with cross-functional teams
