What You'll Do/Need

The Database Engineer uses versatile database technology expertise to build databases that are high-quality, scalable and high-performance to meet the demands of our rapidly growing and ever-changing environment. Database engineers are responsible for database designing, supporting existing databases, performance tuning on premises and in the cloud. Database engineers will design and implement ETL processes to fulfill analytical needs of the business. 



  • Install and configure database server
  • Design databases in the normalized model and dimensional model
  • Ensure quality data creation, presentation and data flow across systems
  • Maintain responsibility for database logical and physical design, and performance tuning on queries
  • Provide data integration solutions across systems
  • Assist writing complex stored procedure and optimize execution efficiency in Microsoft SQL Server environment and Redshift
  • Support and maintain quality data
  • Enforce database best practices and data security
  • Participate in code and design review
  • Work closely with application teams and business owners
  • Take ownership and use proper technical knowledge to help the business make right decisions
  • Research and evaluate third-party tools
  • Participate in regular on-call rotation
  • Collaborate and communicate with team members on daily basis
  • Enhance database applications in an very dynamic environment



  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or concentration in a technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Five years of experience in developing Microsoft SQL database or Redshift applications
  • Understanding of database design/architecture in a Microsoft SQL Server environment or AWS Redshift  
  • Basic database administration operations experience in a Microsoft SQL Server environment or in AWS Redshift 
  • Knowledge of Transact SQL
  • Ability to create stored procedures and SQL views
  • Experience working with ETLs
  • Possess deep understanding of databases as a developer
  • Experience creating SSIS packages for data integration
  • Experience with data modeling, query design and optimization, as well as stored procedures
  • Experience with functions and scripting
  • Knowledge related to computer hardware, cloud platforms
  • Ability to understand large data models quickly
  • Strong ability to work with and provide technical leadership to other team members
